Len B. Jordan and Grace Jordan Scholarships


The Len B. Jordan and Grace Jordan Scholarships are awarded by the Jordan family and the Department of Economics.  These renewable scholarships are awarded to five or six students each academic year.  Criteria for consideration include financial need and/or academic merit.  To be considered for scholarship renewal,  recipients must reapply each academic year.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be Economics majors and full time students in each semester for which the scholarship is awarded.  Applicants must also be juniors or seniors as of the Fall semester beginning the scholarship award period and have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher.  Majors who do not meet these criteria are asked to explain in their application why they should be given special consideration.

How to Apply              
To apply, fill out the scholarship application and turn it in to the administrative assistant in the Department of Economics, Rm. B-311, by the deadline. 

Include the following materials with your application:

  1. Briefly describe your life and your career goals.  
    (Typed, up to one-half page, single-spaced).

  2. A short explanation of why you have chosen to major in economics. 
    (Typed, up to one-half page, single-spaced)

Deadline
The deadline for the 2008-2009 application is Friday, February 15, 2008
